Elsewhere

2026
I am ungrounded, unbelonging, one foot in my city and one foot in yours.
Taking a secret pleasure in disappearing elsewhere. For there, I am larger than life, strong-appearing to strangers, entirely unreachable
I am transforming this year into some intoxicating anonymity
Only complete to myself, and to you, all parts of me collected across the places we loved
Image of hanging keys
All the while, home becoming a home deferred
Time and distance taking form between me and a life that feels too light and sweet to be mine.
A certain heaviness corrupting the shape of it
